Once familiar with the IB PYP Programme many parents communicate their support for creating an environment that encourages students to love learning, respect individuals and cultures, and take action to make the world a better place.
As a parent and a principal I recognize how important it is to maintain strong communication links between school and home. Please know that I look forward to working as a team with you to ensure your child's success. I know what a great staff we have and can assure you that I would be happy to place my own boys in any one of their classrooms. They regularly meet to plan and learn in order to ensure that they are well prepared to teach your children. I can say with confidence that we are a staff of committed, caring, and talented individuals that seek to recognize the unique gifts each child holds inside and empower them to share those gifts in an academic setting.
We are always looking for dedicated parents to partner with us in improving Rockrimmon and making it even better for every child. Please let me know if you are willing and able to serve on our SAC (School Accountability Committee) this year. I would like a parent representative from each grade level to provide input in such areas as budgeting decisions, academic programs, and support for student social and emotional well-being. The commitment is about one hour per month and meetings are typically held during the school day. Of course, our PTO is always appreciative of parent volunteers as well. Safety of your children is always a priority for us here at Rockrimmon. You can help us have a safe place for all students by keeping your family and emergency contact information up to date through the extended parent portal. We do not want a delay in reaching a parent/guardian because the contact information is outdated. We encourage you to take a few minutes and ensure that your family and student's emergency contact information is correct. You may view this information under the Extended Parent Portal in Infinite Campus. Should you need assistance with logging into your Parent Portal, please feel free to contact the District 20 helpdesk at 719.234.1777 or help@asd20.org. They will be able to answer any log on questions you may have.
